The Walserweg stage Arosa - Davos is an approximately 20 km long mountain hike and takes about 6.5 hours. Around 850 meters of elevation gain must be overcome. Accordingly, the requirements for technique and fitness are high, and being free from dizziness is required to overcome the "Tritt" (a 220-step long iron staircase). At the end of the hike, you have the option to save the last approximately 250 meters of descent with the Schatzalp cable car.

From Arosa, the trail descends to the Isel reservoir. There, the path gently ascends through the mountain forest. With beautiful views of the Arosa mountain world, the path winds uphill past the Walser settlement Medergen. Medergen was settled around the year 1300 by German-speaking Walsers. Dark wooden houses nestle close together; the mountain restaurant Alpenrose is cosy. You might want to linger longer here, but the path still holds some surprises: the little lake Seelein von Seebjioden and, a little later, the highlight, the "Tritt" at the Latschüelfurgga pass crossing. The "Tritt" represents a steep step that has been "disarmed" with a ladder over 220 steps long. A thick wire cable is attached on the side to hold onto, making the steep step easily passable for those free from dizziness. Concentration and surefootedness are definitely needed. Then it goes over the pass, with views opening up over the Davos mountain world. From here, the path descends steeply toward Schatzalp, where you can comfortably cover the last approximately 250 meters downhill to Davos Platz with the Schatzalp cable car.
