Robber barons, caves and beautiful views - what better way to spend the day? This hike combines beautiful viewpoints with historical sights.
From the Neumannmühle we walk up the Kirnitzschtal valley to the Buschmühle, one of the oldest mills. Many a hunter's tale was told in the low-ceilinged restaurant. We turn left at the road junction, where the path climbs up the slope. The ascent to the Arnstein is steep, as befits a real robber baron's nest. Stone steps, wooden beams and a cistern bear witness to the former settlement. At the top of the steps is a rock carving that has not yet been interpreted. When the activities of the robber barons became too colorful for the Lusatian towns, they stormed the castle and razed it to the ground. From the summit of the Arnstein, we descend towards Buschmühle until we reach the red markings and follow them to the Kleinstein. Steps lead up to the cave, as well as to the view above. The Kleinstein is a climbing peak. If you pay attention, you will notice a number of safety rings in the walls.Once back down on the path, we find the green line marker on the road after about one kilometer.
