The Cetățile Rădesei Cave circuit is worth trying for the spectacular crossing of the cave. The route involves challenges especially for those who are untrained or have a fear of heights. However, even families with children do this route, so it is possible.
The circuit is part of a longer route that also includes the Someșul Cald Gorges, currently closed to tourist access. So you only have to cross the cave and then return to the place where you started (probably Șaua Vărășoaia) on the circular trail. At first, the route gives you a short introduction to the wild landscape of the Apuseni Mountains forests, on a narrow, shady trail. You cross some meadows with lots of vegetation and blueberry bushes, slightly descending. Near the cave, you reach a trail intersection. If you go down, you enter the cave. If you go up, you continue the route and descend at the other end of the cave to cross it from that direction. There is no better or worse option.
