Appenzeller Circular Route
The Appenzeller Circular Route is a leisurely hike suitable for everyone. It is among the paths specially designated as "barrier-free routes" by Schweiz-Mobil.
The Appenzell region is always worth a trip. Lots of nature, a lively tradition, and the famous painted house facades of Appenzell make it a popular excursion destination. This low-traffic, leisurely valley route leads from the train station through open green areas to the well-known spa hotel Weissbad. It is among the paths specially designated as "barrier-free routes" by Schweiz-Mobil and can be accessed and traversed with a wheelchair, walker, or stroller. After the circular hike, a stroll through Appenzell is worthwhile, for example along the main street and to the beautifully painted house facades. Art enthusiasts can also visit the Appenzell Art Museum. It shows art from Classical Modernism and the present. Special exhibitions occasionally display works by the two Appenzell painters Carl August and Carl Walter Liner.
