Antholzer See Loop I

Starting from Antholz Mittertal via the old country road to Antholz Obertal (Dörfl II). Briefly along the main road and then turning left via the Franzosensteig. Then always on the western valley side on a mostly only moderately ascending hike (signposted "Seeweg", marking 11) between forest and meadows uphill to the southwestern corner of the lake and left on the good hiking trail (initially longer wooden walkways) largely flat on the west side, once on the rocky slope but also briefly up and downhill, in a beautiful hike to the northeast end of the lake (1638 m; here the lake restaurant, a little further downstream the Enzianhütte); from the starting point 1:30 hours. Return: From the lake restaurant eastwards on the circular trail which soon crosses the forest slopes above the road, out to the Hotel Seeresidenz and to the lake trail used on the ascent, turn left here and back down to the starting point.
