This circular route around the almost abandoned settlement of Chartes, is a nice walk with open views but it has not been much cared for.
This route starts at the cemetery of Chartes settlement, where one can enjoy a panoramic view to the east where this route's total area lies, as well as to the west where the Fassa lighthouse can be seen. From the cemetery and in a northerly direction, the hiker moves along a dirt road, which after a short distance reaches a cluster of abandoned buildings, within the residential area of Chartes. From there, a downhill trail that soon meets the familiar stone walls that separate the fields from the trails descends and, encountering various residential remains, reaches the ravine that flows between the side of the cemetery and that of the rest of the current settlement. From the ravine, a climb through a dry sub-ravine with traces of human intervention leads to the central church of the settlement. The continuation of the route through fields leads to the bridge that joins the houses on the two sides of the settlement and climbs from there on a dirt road. Soon the dirt road is replaced by a path that moves between fields surrounded by stone walls. This ascent ends at the Chartes cemetery, where the circular route is completed.

Although this is a generally pleasant route, it needs quite some improvement with its signage in order to be suitable for the whole family. The lack of adequate signaling on this route is a major issue that will come up in many of the turns that the route takes.
Additionally in order to reach the starting point for this route, one will have to drive a car or a bicycle on a section of dirt road, which is probably ok for a normal car.
