Andros Route 13 - Arni - Remata - Lefka Beach
Take this beautiful trail from Arni down to the beautiful Lefka Beach, following a scenic valley.
The path that leads to Lefka beach starts from the old stone-built church of Agia Varvara. The descent takes place through a path full of leaves and branches, which moves between old fields and farmhouses, with some particularly beautiful buildings, including 2 old, rather abandoned churches. A relatively long descent leads to the settlement of Remata, where the route enters an asphalt road and a little further down it passes through the river in the valley of which the whole route is placed. In this settlement there are many beautiful abandoned cottages. Among others, one finds in a place next to a dirt road on the route 3 chapels, one next to the other. This dirt road is part of the route, which later on enters a narrow path. This path leads almost to the end of the route. Although the path is obvious, in many places it is blocked by vegetation, which, although grassy, threatens to cover the trail and certainly creates problems for the movement of hikers. The route here moves mainly at horizontal level, at about 200 meters altitude, until it crosses the last mountain that stands in front of Lefka beach. Just before its end and while the beach of Lefka along with the end of the river gradually comes into view, the route goes up a rural road for a short distance and then follows the final descent that leads to the sandy beach. It should be noted that most mobile phones do not have network coverage on the beach. From the opposite side of the beach a short path leads to a connection with a dirt road where a 4x4 car can arrive to pick up hikers if necessary.

Show elevation profileTips and suggestions
This route leaves hikers at the beach, quite a long way from the starting point, and with no obvious way to reach civilization. So hikers should be prepared to either walk back all of the trail, or reach up to a point where a car - taxi or other - can come to pick them up.
