Starting from Frousei, the first segment of Andros Route 100 follows route 14 up to Ammolochos and the overhanging heights before descending to follow route 15a through Scholi to its starting point.

The route starts by following route 14 in reverse from Froussei. Ascending the valley of the abandoned water mills takes hikers to Ammolochos village which was the largest residential center of the island during the period of the Turkish occupation. The ascent ends at the ridge of the Black Rock massif, where with unobstructed view towards the west, the descent begins. Where the route gets to an access point to route 15a hikers will have to follow the small Connecting Part section and enter route 15a to reach Scholi. There, near the starting point of route 15a, the first day of the hike ends.

Tips and suggestions

In order to begin the hike one will need a lift to Frousei, and since no public bus can take you there, you will probably have to book a taxi.

By the end of the route you will probably have to camp, or have a taxi drive you to civilization if you have not packed enough food and water for the night.

The route's website suggest that you sleep either in Gavrio or in Ano Gavrio, both of which are quite a log way away from the end of the day's route.
