Those seeking a challenge can alternatively hike directly over the Imberger Horn. The path is partially secured with wire ropes. However, this somewhat more demanding route is not suitable for children.

Or you can walk about two kilometers further down the valley from Alpe Mitterhaus and enjoy the impressive view of the massive walls of the Wengenköpfe, over which the Hindelanger Klettersteig runs from the Nebelhorn to the Großer Daumen.

Then we continue south downhill to the Alpe Mitterhaus in the Retterschwanger Valley, where we can refresh ourselves. After a generous break, we cross the Bsonderach and continue down the valley towards the Horn Café, where we can also take a break. Then we continue towards Bad Oberdorf. Our path passes west of Alpenrosenköpfle and then wind down the valley via switchbacks. There we cross the Ostrach on a covered wooden bridge and then turn left to return to the parking lot at the valley station of the Hornbahn.
