This hiking trail is named after the three Rothsee municipalities Allersberg, Hilpoltstein, and Roth and connects them in a particularly scenic way. Since hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants are available in all three places, it is recommended to do the trail in stages. This gives you enough time to thoroughly explore Rothsee and its three surrounding municipalities. There are several entry options in the three towns:
- Roth-Lohgarten train station
- Roth fairground
- Hilpoltstein train station
- Hilpoltstein fairground
- Marketplace Allersberg
- Park and Ride at the A9/Exit Allersberg

Tips and suggestions
In Eckersmühlen, located between Roth and Hilpoltstein, there is the Museum of the Historic Iron Hammer on the route. This industrial history museum complex vividly demonstrates the life and work in a water-powered hammer mill to visitors. All information at www.eisenhammer-eckersmuehlen.de.
In the Factory Museum Roth, visitors can follow the path of the roughly drawn wire through fine drawing and rolling, the production and gilding of yarns, as well as further processing on looms and other machines up to the packaging of the finished product. The working day is also vividly portrayed in the museum. Most machines and devices, like the Jacquard loom controlled by punched cards, are shown fully operational. All information at www.fabrikmuseum-roth.de.
The Parish Church of Mary’s Assumption at the marketplace in Allersberg was built between 1708 and 1710 and extensively restored from 2008 to 2010. Inside, it features the largest ceiling fresco of the Eichstätt diocese and eight exquisite memorials of notable Allersberg personalities from the 18th century.
Those interested in the history of Allersberg can learn about the lives of the Allersberg wire barons through “Türmer Schorsch.” During city tours in historic costume, visitors find out more about the origin and development of the leonine wire drawing in Allersberg. Bookable via the tourist office of the market town of Allersberg.

For longer hikes such as the All-Hi-Ro path, it is recommended to carry the Rothsee/Brombachsee hiking map of the Roth district. It provides extensive information with a large overview map of all hiking trails between Brombachsee and Rothsee. It is available at the tourist offices of the three Rothsee municipalities and at the Roth District Office.

Roadbook
In Allersberg we take the path towards Rothsee and walk via Eulenhof, the Eulensee and Göggelsbuch in a southern direction through enchanting fields and landscapes. In Göggelsbuch, we pass under the state road without height restrictions and reach the bathing beach and Strandhaus Grashof via the parking lot.
Along Rothsee, we reach the Seezentrum Heuberg. After a pleasant refreshment at the lake, we turn right behind the lake ranger station. An information board explains the water management project "Fränkisches Seenland". After the pumping station, we turn left and follow the path to the Lock Eckersmühlen. There you can watch the lifting process from the visitor platform. 50 meters after the lock, we keep left along the canal to the canal bridge.
A paved path leads towards Hilpoltstein. Through the historic town center, past the Döderleinsturm and the train station, we reach the Seitzenmühle after 2 km. There, we turn right to the Paulusmühle and reach the Roth district Eckersmühlen via Wallersbach. From Eckersmühlen, a narrow, lightly trafficked road leads to Hofstetten/Roth. Before the sports field, turn left into the forest past the Kupferhammer, over the Roth River and to the Museum of the Historic Iron Hammer, which keeps the ancient blacksmithing craft alive. From there, we follow the signs through Hofstetten to Roth. In Roth, the route continues through the city park to the Factory Museum.
Heading towards Allersberg, we follow the hiking trail signs through the Roth valley to the canal and are on the Judenweg – the old trade route of the Jewish population in the region, which formerly connected Roth and Allersberg almost in a straight line (now separated by the canal).
Before we reach the road Heubühl–Guggenmühle, we turn south, pass Fischhof and Appelhof, and finally return to Allersberg. There, the path leads us back to the marketplace.
