Hiking route "Achtern Berge" connecting path Reinsen - Reinsdorf
Length: 3.6 km one way
Signage: Symbol: Bee
The route starts at the forest edge "Zum Großen Karl" always uphill to the Böger Oaks rest area. From there, it goes steeply downhill towards Reinsdorf. At a junction about 300 m before the forest exit, the path merges into the Sigwardsweg, which runs along here. This hiking route ends at the Reinsdorf cemetery chapel. Opposite are the wide orchards and display boards of the Schaumburger forest beekeeping. After a break, a visit to the apple nature trail with orchard in Apelern is recommended.
The place names Reinsen and Reinsdorf sound similar, but the villages belong to different municipalities. Reinsen is a district of the town Stadthagen, Reinsdorf belongs to the municipality of Apelern. Previously, there was a close connection between the villagers; people came to dance entertainment across the hill to Reinsen, conversely the excursion pubs in Reinsdorf were popular destinations for the residents of Reinsen in their free time. The people at the foot of the hill called the residents on the opposite side colloquially the "Achtern Barje". This path connection has gained new significance through the Schaumburger forest beekeeping.
