Achselkopf circular hike
The Schaller Chapel is located with a view of the Gehrenspitze on the Erzberg. From here you have a wide view over the Reutte valley, the Zugspitze (2,962m), as well as the Bavarian fairytale castle Neuschwanstein.
MUSAUER ALM:
The alm is a popular excursion destination for young and old, and also the ideal starting point for beautiful summit and climbing routes. The large sun terrace invites you to linger with hearty snacks and good traditional home cooking. From the end of June, homemade alpine butter, cheese, and buttermilk are also available.
MUSAU:
The small community of Musau with its 400 inhabitants lies north of Reutte. Elevation: 821 m above sea level.
The districts Brandtstatt, Roßschläg, Saba, Leite, Platte, Hofstatt, Riedle, and Höllmühle together form the community of Musau. “Muosowe”, as the village was first mentioned in 1218, derives from the Old High German term “muessa” and means swampy land. The municipal coat of arms depicts a dragon pierced by the Magnus staff. This refers to the former sovereign and judicial rights of the Füssen Magnus foundation.
FRAUENSEE:
For romantics, the somewhat hidden, mysteriously appearing Frauensee is just right! It is freely accessible all year round and also suitable for bathing stays in summer. In summer, the lake reaches an average temperature of 19°C.
Above the community of Lechaschau lies the idyllic, small Frauensee.
