Access from Innerfragant to the Fraganter Schutzhaus on old trails

The path begins at the Innerfraganterwirt to the left of the waterfall and first follows an old service road of the energy provider KELAG uphill. At the beginning of the path is also the old material cable car, which still supplies the shelter with everything necessary, especially in winter. After less than half an hour, you cross the stream feeding the waterfall over a bridge, where the path now turns into a trail and winds upward, partly under the power line route. Along the way, you encounter a memorial cross erected because the hut warden had an accident during an unauthorized ride with the material cable car in the 1980s. On the further ascent, you soon reach the alpine pasture zone, where a storm in late autumn 2019 caused visible damage. At a water valve station of the energy provider, the view opens up to the mountains that encircle Großfragant like a wreath and give the mountain area its incomparable beauty. After about 2 hours, the shelter is reached. Here you can look forward to good food and drinks!
