7 Summits from Lake Faak
The 4-Summit Panoramic Route is known for the most important peaks east of Lake Faak. However, there are 3 more.
Therefore 7 peaks - no summit crosses - as a challenge east of Lake Faak. Ideal in spring and late autumn.
The peaks are hiked in the order Hom (also Hum), Petelin, Bleiberg, Kozjak, Rudnik, Wauberg, and Tabor. Interestingly, none of the peaks has a corresponding summit cross. The best time is spring and autumn. In summer, due to the low altitude, this hike is only recommended in bad weather (not suitable for swimming).
The route should not be underestimated, as the individual summits add a considerable amount of altitude gain (860 m) to the more than 18 km trail length.
Author’s recommendation
On the way to Hom, you can also continue a bit further on the Way of St. James and then reach the filial church St. Christof on Hum. On the return path, you can shortly after the church ascend directly to Hom.

From the parking lot we walk westwards along Kumweg. After about 700 m, take a path uphill to the left (not the asphalted path).
Following this path for about one kilometer leads to St. Martiner Straße, which we follow right for about 200 m. Following the signs, we leave St. Martiner Straße to the left and follow the hiking trail towards Hum church. At km 4.4, we leave the path to Hum church and ascend to Hom (Hum, 1st summit). After about 600 m, you reach the summit (the exact location is best found with a GPS-enabled device or smartphone). The return path goes west back to the starting path briefly, from where the signs to Petelin are now followed.
At km 6.6, you reach Petelin (highest point and 2nd summit) and enjoy the good view to the north.
Continuing westwards back towards St. Martiner Straße, a shortcut can be used shortly before to reach it faster. At St. Martiner Straße, keep right, then after a short distance turn left (not the route from before) towards Bleiberg. The old ascent via the ridge is no longer possible (MTB downhill track).
The ascent to Bleiberg mainly follows the MTB ascent route but can be shortened in some places. At km 9.6, you reach Bleiberg (3rd summit).
Going westwards downhill, at km 10.3 keep right and follow this path for about 1.1 km. Here, shortly after, turn right. After a few meters (150 m), go left off-path heading towards summit Kozjak (4th summit, best found like Hom with GPS-enabled device or smartphone). The ascent returns back to the path.
Follow the path following the sign "Wauberg" until this can be left left. Here, however, turn right and walk a nice forest path up to Rudnig (5th summit). After the ascent back, continue directly on the path to Wauberg. From here follow the 4-Summit Route and at km 15.5 reach Wauberg (6th summit and viewpoint).
Continue following the hiking trail signposted Tabor (Tabor height). At km 16.7 you reach Tabor height (7th summit, popular viewpoint, forest rope park, 3D archery course). Here you enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Faak.
The descent follows the 4-Summit Route and then continues along the Way of St. James back to the starting point.
