Crossing the B420 into Mühlweg towards the playground with the adjacent Glan bridge, behind which is the old Erdesbach mill with the weir and the fish ladder or fish pass newly built in 2013.
Before the Glan bridge, continue along the left riverbank until you have to cross the B420 again towards the cemetery and then uphill to the "Kimmelings Gorge." The Kimmelings Gorge is the boundary between Erdesbach and Ulmet. More precisely, the gorge with the small waterfall separates the Erdesbach and Ulmet Rummelswald. According to an old legend, the Erdesbach council members had to transfer the forest area belonging today to Ulmet to the municipality of Ulmet to settle drinking debts.
Above a small waterfall, the brook side is changed, and then the path leads past the former last vineyard through the "Rummelswald" to the "Rellergrawe." In the "Rellergrawe" or also "Kottengrawe," a small settlement for lepers is mentioned from the 19th century. People with contagious diseases had to endure their miserable existence here in primitive huts.
The upper part of the gorge is referred to as Wolfsgrawe. Wolves were not uncommon in our region in the 17th and 18th centuries.
After passing this, the path goes steeply uphill on the Veldenz hiking trail and then left to the "Kohlloch Gorge."
According to oral tradition, hard coal was mined here in a thin seam. However, it is also conceivable that the name "Kohlloch" derives from the production of charcoal. Unfortunately, both theories are not confirmed. Info from Landesforsten about seed culture.
Now follow a forest path and turn left at the "Buhlwiese" into a sloping meadow path to the area of two springs of the Wingertbach, and
arrive at the "Wild Garlic Gorge."
Now it goes steeply upwards to the right before the village with a constant view into the gorge of the further spring brook of the Wingertbach. In the middle of the 19th century, the dammed water powered the upper wheel of a communal grain mill of the local municipality Erdesbach.
At the end of this section, the path runs left through a small valley until you reach the Staffelweg. Now right and continue uphill to the first wind turbine. Now the highest point of the hike is reached.
The open terrain offers a magnificent view over the middle Glan valley and its mountains. Here you can get information about the giant sequoias from Landesforsten.
Downhill to the left, you now reach the divided "Gölschbach Gorge," and past the landscape pond back to the starting point in the village center.
