4 Valleys Route

The 4 Valleys Route impresses with its diverse flora and fauna along the hiking trails. After leaving the town center, it goes north along the Bosselbach through the green forests of the Eifel, before the path then follows the meandering Tiefenbach through idyllic wet meadows. This is also one of the most beautiful parts of the path. Numerous rare animal and plant species can be found along the way, such as the grey wagtail or beaver. During the day, however, only traces of the latter can be found.

The path continues over several small bridges renovated by the Life+ project "Ru & Kall" to the old Lukas Mill. Numerous barriers impassable for brook trout and bullhead were removed within the framework of the EU-funded project, so that the animals can now ascend to their original spawning waters again.

Further it goes along the Kall to the Menstrenger Mill, which invites you to stop for a break in a dreamlike location. The main house dates from 1633, and the mill building was probably built later. Until the 1930s, oil was pressed from beech hedges and grain processed here. Worth seeing is the completely original milling machinery. The weir system and the pond system consisting of a dam pond, ditches, and wooden troughs, which ensure the water supply of the mill, were successfully reconstructed, so the mill clatters again on the Kall like in old times. Finally, in the last section of the 11.3 km circular route, we leave the Kall and hike along the Richelsbach back to the starting point at the church in Vossenack.
