This stage is dedicated to Archduke Ludwig Salvator, a well-to-do "investor" of the early days, who bought huge estates in the Tramuntana from the richly filled coffers of the Austrian Empire. On newly laid bridle paths with viewpoints at just the right spots, he liked to roam his possessions on horseback. Part of the stage runs along one of these paths. Along the way, you also hike on and over the central mountain ridge – so magnificent views are guaranteed. The ascent to the almost 1000 m high back of the Tramuntana should not be underestimated, but the effort is quickly forgotten during a breather on the 945 m high Caragolí. From there, it goes almost entirely downhill, at first through a steeply falling wall. Down below awaits you Deià, one of Mallorca's most enchanting places, a place you hardly want to leave.

Not to forget the cream of the crop from pop to rock, ranging from Eric Clapton to Sting. All were inspired by the Mediterranean landscape and the cozy atmosphere of the hill village. In the shadow of the artists and stars, today's elite has conquered Deià; guests stay in noble country hotels and dine at Sebastian or Michelin-starred chef Josef Sauerschell. And then there are the hikers, cyclists, and excursionists who at least during the day do not let the place rest. Why Deià, of course, has its reasons: The unified townscape in the style of traditional rural architecture, paved stairways and lush palm decorations make Deià a total work of art and give the village an unmistakable flair. At the top of the hill stands the fortified parish church Sant Joan, whose cemetery is the burial place of the writer Robert Graves ("I, Claudius, Emperor and God"), who settled in Deià in
