04 Prealps route, E14: Maria Neustift - Ternberg
We are now on stage 14 in the Traunviertel at the edge of the Upper Austrian Prealps. Looking south, you see the sparsely populated Reichraminger Hintergebirge, part of the Kalkalpen National Park.
Maria Neustift, our starting point, leaves, and we descend to the Höllgraben, then ascend again to Glasenberg with the Glasner Hut and continue gently climbing to Spadenberg (1000 m), the highest point of today’s stage. Here we are on a forested ridge in the Enns and Steyr Flysch mountains. From Plattenberg we have a view south again toward the Reichraminger Hintergebirge. Shortly before Ternberg, the Koglerhof (also accommodation) invites you to stay. After another 4 km, we reach the village of Ternberg.
