Varied, long bike route with many outdoor refreshment options, suitable for touring bikes, gravel bike, and e-bike.
The bike route leads from Gmund along the east shore of Lake Tegernsee through the town of Tegernsee to Rottach-Egern. Along the Weißach it then goes to the mountain climber village of Kreuth and further to just before the Achenpass. Now it goes a short distance back and through the Schwarzenbach and Söllbach valleys, we reach Bad Wiessee. With the lake in sight, the route now leads towards Gmund to Gut Kaltenbrunn. We return to the starting point with a detour to the beer gardens in the Gmund districts of Finsterwald and Dürnbach. Those who want to shorten the route ride directly from the bridge in Kreuth-Klamm to Schwarzentennalm.

Roadbook
From Gmund, the route runs along the lake circuit path on the east shore of Lake Tegernsee to Rottach-Egern. Shortly after the church of St. Laurentius, we turn left onto Fürstenstraße and follow it to the Weißach bridge. The route continues along the Weißach over the mountain climber village of Kreuth to just before the Achenpass at the Gasthof Glashütte. Now it goes back the same way for five kilometers to the bridge at the Klamm; we cross the federal road and cycle uphill through the Schwarzenbachtal to the Schwarzentennalm. Be careful on the following descent to Bad Wiessee as the first part on the forest road is very steep. Upon arrival in Bad Wiessee, the lake circuit path leads us on the west side of Lake Tegernsee back to the starting point in Gmund. For the final stage on the beer garden route, we turn left at Gut Kaltenbrunn onto Kaltenbrunner Straße towards Bad Tölz. Upon reaching the restaurant Tegernseer Hof, we turn left onto Tölzer Straße, then immediately right again towards Dürnbach. At the traffic light, we cross the federal road and turn right onto Dorfstraße into the Mühltal. Along the Manfall, we reach the starting point upstream in the town center of Gmund.
Note:
Those who want to shorten the route skip the detours to Schwaigeralm, Siebenhüttenalm, and Glashütte and ride directly from the bridge in Kreuth-Klamm to Schwarzentennalm (towards Bad Wiessee). This shortens the route by about one hour and approximately 15 kilometers.

Public transport
Arrival by bike and the Bavarian Regiobahn is possible up to Gmund or Tegernsee train stations. Here you will find the current timetable information:
https://www.mvv-muenchen.de/fahrplanauskunft
Notes from the Regio-Bahn on bike transport in general:
The number of bikes per vehicle is limited for safety reasons.
Unfortunately, there is no entitlement to bike transport.
Some connections in the morning and evening, mostly between 8:00 and 11:00, as well as 16:00 and 19:00, are particularly popular. Consider choosing earlier or later trains if possible. Demand also rises quickly with sudden weather changes.
E-bikes with insurance license plates are excluded from transport.
