Grassau & Rottau im Chiemgau - Urlaub zwischen Almen und Chiemsee Verified partner
One of the most beautiful cycle paths in all of Bavaria
This route is perfect for families and leisure cyclists looking for a varied and scenic route. Your ride starts in Grassau. Here you will find ample parking options and can stock up on snacks or refreshments in one of our cozy cafés before you start.
Along the Kendlmühlfilzen Nature Reserve, the cycle path takes you straight to the Chiemsee shore. The route offers numerous viewpoints where you can admire the beauty of the "Bavarian Sea" from all sides. Along the way, you will find many opportunities to stop directly at the cycle path or to swim. The well-developed and family-friendly route makes it easy to enjoy the breathtaking landscape while being active.
Our tips:
- Start early to make the most of the day.
- Bring swimwear – the Chiemsee invites you to swim at many spots.
- Bring water and small snacks, especially if you’re traveling with children.

Roadbook
We leave the Hefter parking lot to the right and immediately turn left onto Moosbacher Straße. We follow this for just under 1.5 km until we cross a small bridge. Right after the bridge, we turn left onto the field path. We follow this to the next intersection, where we turn right and take the next left turn. After 200 m, we turn right onto Hacklweg. We follow the route for about a kilometer and then turn right, following the path until we reach a paved road, where we turn right. Arriving at the Torfbahnhof, we turn left and from there follow the signs for the "Chiemsee Cycle Path."
