The Muthöfe above Tirol are a popular excursion destination for both locals and tourists.
From the ➊ Tourism Association (350 m) in the center of Algund, head towards Algund-Dorf until Rusterkeller. Keep right and descend gently to Gratsch, a district of Meran. Then follow the ➋ "Steffl Gasse" to the first intersection, where you turn left towards St. Peter and continue to the intersection with the ➌ Gnaidweg. Turn right again up the steep lane to the ➍ Weinweg, which you follow until it joins the state road SP 7. Turn left and pass through the center of ➏ Tirol (596 m). The road now climbs steeply up to the Gasthaus ➐ Tiroler Kreuz (806 m). About 50 m after the inn, turn left onto the forest road, which leads up to the Muthöfe and the destination ➑ Gasthof Hochmuth (1361 m). Proceed with some caution back down the forest road to ➏ Dorf Tirol and turn at the elementary school onto the Schlossweg, which leads to the impressive ➒ Schloss Tirol, which is left on your left. Continue to St. Peter and to ➓ Schloss Thurnstein, where you turn left and descend via a winding road
