Once skiing around the mighty Sella massif in the Dolomites - that is the dream of countless winter sports enthusiasts. Along the way, magnificent views of the snow-covered peaks of the Dolomites, long descents on mostly intermediate slopes, and many stops at cozy huts await. Counting the mountain lift ascents and the descents on the slopes, more than 40 km of distance is covered in about 4 hours, but you can add as many lifts and slopes as you like. The ski circuit is signposted in both directions; this route follows the orange marking and runs clockwise. The orange route is a bit more demanding condition-wise due to its longer descents than the green route in the opposite direction. Nevertheless, the ski circuit can be well managed in both directions by average skiers. The slopes in the Sellaronda area are consistently well prepared but can become rutted during the day with heavy visitor traffic. Particularly on south-facing slopes, the slopes may become slushy in spring.
