The path takes us from the parking lot of the Gače Ski Center, through the village of Komarna Vas, across the middle of the ski slope, and continues to the abandoned Gottscheer village of Ponikve. From there, we continue past the Partisan Hospital Kremen, the village of Planina, and the abandoned village of Škrilj back towards Komarna Vas village.
This scenic loop trail begins at the parking area of the Gače Ski Center, leading through the village of Komarna Vas and then across the central section of the ski slope, offering expansive views of the surrounding highlands.
The path continues to the abandoned Gottscheer village of Ponikve, a quiet and evocative location steeped in cultural history. From here, the route winds its way past the Partisan Hospital Kremen, a hidden forest memorial from World War II, before reaching the village of Planina, known for its picturesque setting.
The final leg of the journey leads through the abandoned village of Škrilj, another reminder of the region’s Gottscheer heritage, before circling back toward Komarna Vas and returning to the starting point.
