Through the countryside between Třebíč and Nová Říše
After leaving Třebíč, the route winds through peaceful countryside. Along the way, views of rolling hills open up, alternating with small wooded areas and quaint villages that have retained their original character to this day. It is here that the charm of a gravel ride truly shines—the opportunity to discover places that lie off the beaten path of major tourist routes.
One of the pleasant stops is the area around the Sádek Winery, the highest-altitude winery in Moravia. The local vineyards prove that even the Vysočina region can surprise you with its winemaking tradition and offer unexpected experiences.
Nová Říše and the Mařenka Lookout Tower
A highlight of this stage is Nová Říše with its monumental Premonstratensian monastery, which for centuries was one of the region’s most important spiritual centers. The atmosphere of this historic complex invites you to stop and take a short break.
Not far from there stands the Mařenka Observation Tower, the highest peak in the Třebíč region. From the observation tower, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Vysočina landscape and, on a clear day, even of the more distant parts of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
Return to Telč
The final kilometers wind through a landscape that seems tailor-made for slow travel. By now, you’ve gotten into the rhythm of the Vysočina region; you notice the details around you more keenly and realize that the greatest experience of the entire journey isn’t just the individual sights, but the landscape itself that connects them
.
Arriving in Telč has a special atmosphere. The Renaissance square, which served as the starting point of the entire journey, becomes a symbol of its completion after several days in the saddle. The return doesn’t feel like the end of a sporting feat, but rather the conclusion of a journey through the history, architecture, and nature of the Vysočina region.
