The Eight-Lake Venture Gravel
Carinthia - the "water-rich" federal state, boasts over 2000 lakes & ponds, for swimming in summer and ice skating in winter!
The 8-Lake-Gravel is a grand two-wheel bathing session of a different kind...
This unusual bike round trip takes you to the lake region of Central Carinthia and leaves swimming lovers no wishes unfulfilled.
Is it the fascinating beauty south of the Alps, or the eight bathing lakes in one go, that makes this gravel tour so special? Just try it yourself and "experience" this round trip with all your senses!
This quite adventurous round trip was planned with great attention to detail to connect the existing bike paths via unknown trails! Eight bathing opportunities in one day, this is very rare, and those who want can enjoy an exquisite refreshment in every lake!
This purist gravel round course is rather for "lazy uphill" riders; the mostly gentle climbs are generally short, yet almost 1500m of elevation gain accumulate by the end of the day! Occasionally it can get a bit rougher and more demanding, but these sections are rare and short-lived!
The gravel share is over 40%, with almost half classified as easy single trails (S0 to S1). The paved sections mostly run on well-known bike paths and little-trafficked side roads! The flowing trail sections pass through light mixed forests, and here and there, longer root carpets must also be mastered!
Ultimately, a truly worthwhile bike escapade garnished with great scenic impressions. An elegant and technically moderate day trip for enduring water lovers and gourmets!
Advanced and trained gravel bikers should calculate about 120 km with a net riding time (without breaks) of just under 8 hours!

Safety information
Generally, this round involves a lot of riding on loose gravel and trails!
Caution on the single trails, especially in the area from Treffen to St. Ruprecht and along the south shore of Rauschelesee, Bassgeigensee, and Keutschacher Lake. Here you will find some tricky root carpets, especially wet conditions require full attention!
