Smuggler Trail

Those who like stones (dialect: Stana, Stoana) will be pleased.

On this moderately difficult singletrail, you can sneak down from the summer camp of the snowparks above the Almstube directly to the Kornock valley station. Low berms, rock drops (stone steps), and plenty of rock gardens await you. Over the approximately 700 meters, you will cross some wet spots, definitely get some "dirt" on you, and get well shaken. Skilled riders can "clear" some of the drops, and the less skilled will also get to see some rare plants in the surrounding meadows.

The last section currently (2021/22) leads briefly uphill due to the construction of the torrent control. After completion of the torrent control, you will get an additional trail section that guides you along the torrent back to the valley station.

Info for beginners:

The first moderately difficult singletrail of Turracher Höhe! After mastering the Kornock Flowtrails, this trail is your next step up. You can practice riding rock gardens and roots in a safe environment on the Technique Trail #2 with the bike guides from the bike schools.

History:

In this area, all kinds of goods were smuggled from north to south and south to north in earlier times.

Trail characteristics:

• Moderately difficult singletrail (on the easier side), 75m elevation, 690m length
• Rock gardens, rock gardens, and more rock gardens (all rollable)
• Jumpable rock drops at higher speeds
• Surrounding terrain is very wet. Beautiful plants and wet spots around the trail.
• Berm turns and inward-leaning turns
• Stone steps and jumpable stones in parallel sections
• Please stay on the trail. Protected plants grow in the surrounding area.
