From the center of the village of Città Sant'Angelo, the route heads towards Bisenti (Km 35), on dirt roads and secondary streets. From here begins the first significant climb leading to the CAI shelter "Faiani", at the foot of Monte Camicia. From there, an asphalt descent leads to the village of Castelli, then climbs up to the Ruzzo springs and descends towards the town of Isola del Gran Sasso (Km 72 Mags point). The route crosses the historic center of Tossicia, then the settlement of Montorio al Vomano. From here, the route follows state road 80 and after about 30 km reaches the Locanda del Cervo (Km 108, Mags point). Back in the saddle, you pass the town of Ortolano and at km 123 turn left onto the dirt road leading to the little church of San Vincenzo. Next, you reach the descent of the Valle del Vasto on a dirt road which at around km 140 introduces the entrance to the "grotta a Male". Then you arrive at Fonte Cerreto (Km 147 Mags point), location of the Gran Sasso cable car. The route continues on state road 17 bis, until turning right at km 158 which leads to the Campo Imperatore plain. After crossing the plain, passing through Vallestrina, you reach the Voltigno plateau (Km 190 Mags point). Once restarted, you descend towards Montebello di Bertona and cross the Penne lake nature reserve (Km 205 Mags point). Leaving Penne, the destination is close: in a few kilometers you return to the starting point, Città Sant'Angelo.
