The route runs mostly on paved roads dedicated to cycle and pedestrian use, except for short stretches of provincial road (lightly trafficked) and some stretches marked on the map with gravel road but still compact.
The itinerary is taken from that proposed by Parco Adda Sud with a cut to exclude Maleo. Absolutely simple and suitable for everyone. To be avoided in the warmest months due to little shade.
Don’t miss (see waypoints on the map):
- Bocca d'Adda, at the confluence of the Po and Adda; a few meters of dirt road allow you to get very close to the water (see photo)
- the hydraulic works in Pizzighettone: the majesty of the Adda waves offers a truly majestic image, worth the short stop
- the village of Pizzighettone: fortified city whose walls are visitable with a guided tour (definitely worth it!): the village is charming
- the very short stretch along the river at Crotta d'Adda
With a slight detour, it is possible to visit Gera: unfortunately, the fortification is owned by the Military Engineering Corps and is closed, but some views are possible!
