The route leads around Baesweiler and the surrounding Bördelandschaft as well as the nearby villages. The highlight of the route is the CarlAlexanderPark. The impressive spoil heap ascent and a great viewing platform invite you to climb the heap and view the cycling route and the surrounding Börde and spoil heap landscape from above. But there is also much to discover away from the heap. At each of the seven stations, there is a bench and two fruit trees to nibble on. Information boards allow interested visitors to learn about special features from the respective districts. Topics include wind power in Baesweiler, the Stone Age settlement in Oidtweiler, and the Beeck flow in Floverich. As part of the re-conception, the routing, which was partly marked by very poorly visible ground arrow markings and was not easily passable in both directions, was replaced by clear "Lion" markings in both directions.
You can actually start the cycling loop from any district. An overview map marks the route and the station locations around Baesweiler.

Route Features
The cycling loop mostly runs on gravel or newly asphalted paths with slight inclines. Due to the short distance of around 24 km, the loop does not require special fitness and is therefore easily manageable even for less experienced cyclists.
