Three different trail circuits with lengths between 5 and 11 kilometers are available in the Monschau-Kalterherberg area, for example, under suitable snow conditions that allow the use of grooming equipment.
- Trail "Auf der Höhe", approx. 5.0 kilometers,
- Trail "Krummer Ast" approx. 7.5 kilometers,
- Trail Windhaag, approx. 10.5 kilometers,
The trail "Windhaag" shown here can be combined with the two trails "Antioniusbrücke (Höfen)" and "Krummer Ast."

Public transport
DB Train:Take regional trains to "Aachen Hbf." and then continue with the AVV regional buses.
- Take line SB 63 towards "Simmerath Bushof" and change at the "Post" stop in Roetgen
- to line 66 towards "Monschau Parkhaus/Schmiede", which takes you to the final stop.
- There change to line 85 towards "Monschau Kalterherberg Oberdorf" and get off at the stop "Monschau, Kalterherberg, Oberdorf".
- Follow the street further in the direction of travel and walk through "Kleinfrankreich" and "Heistertweg" to the starting point (approx. 1.7 km)
Since the nearest stop is about 2 kilometers away from the starting point, traveling there by public transport is discouraged and it is recommended to arrive by taxi or car.
Bus:
The stop closest to the starting point, "Monschau, Kalterherberg Oberdorf," is served by line 85 during the winter months. Follow the street further in the direction of travel and after a few hundred meters turn left onto "Auf der Höhe," which leads to the starting point.
