The approximately 1.4 km long illuminated loop leads partly over open sunny meadows and partly through the adjacent forest. The illuminated trail is especially suitable for beginners and children.
The trail is illuminated on weekdays until 9:00 p.m. – ideal for a short round after work.
At sufficient snow depth, it is also possible to access the Kuhberg trail from the starting point.
The maintenance and upkeep of the trails in the region around Kuhberg is the responsibility of the interest group "Rund um den Kuhberg" e.V. More information can be found here.

Safety instructions
The FIS code of conduct for cross-country skiers and the trail regulations of the German Ski Association apply on the trail.
Every cross-country skier must behave in a way that does not endanger or harm others.
- Marking and information signs must be observed. Pedestrians and dogs are not allowed to enter the trail across its entire width.
- It is generally required to ski in the right lane - also for groups.
- Overtaking is allowed on the left or right; the skier in front does not need to leave the lane.
- Ski tours are to be avoided in darkness and extremely bad weather conditions.
- When resting and catching your breath, leave the trail.
Please note:
Mutual assistance is a matter of course and in emergencies also an obligation. The trail is supervised by the mountain rescue service (emergency number 112).
If the trail is sufficiently wide, freestyle technique (skating) is allowed between the direction lanes; however, these must not be damaged.
Between the direction lanes, it is safe to descend in a snowplow position.
When skating, the tracks must not be damaged.
