Roadbook
You can start skiing either from the Syväyksenkatu parking area or alternatively from the yard of the Kiannon Kuohut spa hotel. After the starting point, the track follows Jalonuoma down to the riverbank and turns right at the intersection. Soon there is another intersection where the track turns left. At this point, you can choose the easier track turning left or the one continuing straight with more elevation changes. The tracks merge into one track after one kilometre of skiing. After this, the route continues towards the Haverinen ski resort as a bidirectional track. After just under three kilometres, continue straight at the intersection and continue another two kilometres to the Haverinen ski resort. After Haverinen ski resort, continue on the right-hand track for three kilometres. After just over one kilometre of skiing, the Aittokoski track turns right at the intersection. It is 3 kilometres from the intersection to the Aittokoski lean-to and the turning point of the track. On the way back, turn right from the first intersection back onto the three-kilometre track, which, after just over a kilometre, when turning right, continues back to the centre of Suomussalmi. After this, return along the same route to the starting point.
