    Roadbook

We start at the town hall in Wolterdingen and initially ride along the Breg towards Hammereisenbach-Bregenbach. Along the way, we pass the flood protection dam built to regulate the floodwaters of the Danube as far as Ulm. The bike path continues along the former railway track of the Bregtalbahn, which was discontinued in 1972. We continue towards Krumpenhof. At the fork in the road, we first turn right and then immediately left again. Afterwards, we reach the ruin of a Celtic fortification located on a rock spur via switchbacks, passing a memorial plaque honoring Hereditary Princess Paula. After a small bridge, we follow the path to the right. During a longer climb, we ride through a section of the Kohlwald forest, where charcoal burners used to produce charcoal. We follow the bike route signs, and about two kilometers before Mistelbrunn, we turn left. We reach Mistelbrunn and can visit the St. Markus chapel there. Then we continue to Hubertshofen, a small district of Donaueschingen. Along the way, we enjoy views of the Baar landscape and the Swabian Jura. Hubertshofen lies at 800 meters elevation and, with its idyllic location and extensive forests, invites hiking or cross-country skiing in winter. From the center of Hubertshofen, we follow the bike route signs at the next intersection over the Breg bridge back to the starting point.
