ACCESS: From the parking lot at the abbey (270 m) down to the ferry and via Fall on the Danube cycle path to the Danube power plant (275 m). Turn left, briefly on cycle path R1 and right towards Ottensheim. Past the regatta course, right over the Rodl bridge (255 m) and keeping right after the Rodl park towards the Danube and the ferry. We follow the cycle path straight ahead, watching for signs, passing the train station, left over the tracks and immediately right. Now it goes uphill in the Stiegelbauerngraben (Stifterstraße). Through Niederottensheim and at the fork (~350 m) turn right. We ride to the end of Maurederstraße at about 400 m. Up the forest road if dry and passable, over a meadow and past a farm. Continue on the freight path to a sign, here sharply right and to point 461 m. At the fork with trail signs keep right, straight leads to Koglerau. Slight ups and downs to the Dürnbergerhof (~470 m).
ASCENT: Bike depot at about 475 m. We climb briefly, right, a left curve and into the forest. At a clearing turn left, at the forest edge you can climb well as there is no annoying growth here. Keep right at the top and we reach on the trail traces the Dürnberg with cross (549 m) and rest bench. 320 m elevation gain, about 1 1/4 hours with >15 1/2 km from the power plant parking lot.
DESCENT: We go back and descend via the panorama path. We come to the "Guckerstein" ~445 m, now you know why the panorama path is so named. Magnificent view of the Danube, Wilhering and the power plant. Past a farm again, then steeply downhill through hairpin bends in the forest to cycle path R1 next to the federal road, sign Dürnberg East. Shortly right on R1, left through B127 and to the small station. Further on the cycle path we meet our route from the morning. Left over the tracks and on the known cycle path to Ottensheim to the ferry. Here you can soon go left through the floodplain on the towpath on a right curve, but give priority to pedestrians. Soon we are back on R1, past the regatta course and on the familiar route via the power plant to the parking lot. On the known Danube cycle path over the Innbach, nice view, left at Fall and over the ferry up to the abbey. 40 m elevation gain, 15 km and <3/4 hour.
Total: 360 m elevation gain, ~30 1/2 km bike route and about 2 1/4 hours of riding and walking time.
