Starting from Brixen, Aquarena parking lot, via Kranebitt to Schabs. At the Sonneck restaurant, you join the bike path into the Puster Valley. Above Mühlbach (Stöckvoter), initially leave the road and turn left onto the hiking trail, which leads straight ahead to the old Valserstraße, starting to the left.
Now continue to follow this steep but paved road towards Vals. Shortly before Vals, go straight onto the valley path (the new road curves right there), which runs with a gentle incline on the left side of Vals — very pleasant to ride.
This path leads directly to the valley station of the Jochtal cable car. Continuing along the road here, head towards Fahnealm. First with moderate incline, then steeper and serpentining upwards.
After reaching Fahnealm, continue along the forest road to Labesebenalm with a quite steep final climb.
Here the bike ride ends; the lake can be easily reached on foot within 1 hour.
Return to the alm by the same path. With the bike then downhill again (caution advised, there is a gorge on the left side). Fahnealm offers a very worthwhile stop with its huts.
Take the access road down to the Jochtal valley station and from here take the gondola lift up to the mountain station. You take the bike with you in the cabin; a ride up costs about €10.
Once at the top, ride with a gentle incline up to the Stoanerne Mandlen, a place with magnificent panoramic views.
There are several downhill options; e.g., back to the mountain station and down the access road to the Anrater hut (recommended). Alternatively, as in this route recording, take the hiking trail downhill (downhill style).
Then follow the forest road to Spinges, down to Schabs, and at the Sonneck restaurant, the loop closes. Or as recorded here, continue to Aicha, Franzensfeste, and via the bike path to Vahrn, Brixen.
