Ring route that ideally follows the homonymous Valchiusella stream. Fascinating route, particularly suitable for those who want to reconnect with nature and discover ancient traditions.
The Valchiusella takes its name from the homonymous stream that crosses it; the area is located a few km from Ivrea and from the Gran Paradiso National Park. Due to the characteristics of the territory, it is an ideal destination for those seeking genuine rural tourism in low mountain environments (never exceeding 1000m in altitude). You pass through peaceful villages on low-traffic roads, each with its own peculiarities, examples among others include the Medieval Tower of Strambinello, the characteristic Vutun of Vico Canavese, the Mining Museum in Traversella and the particular architecture of Rueglio, which has a classic example in the "Ka 'd Mesanis", a 15th-century building, now a 'house museum', rich in arches and elegant columns, frescoes and wooden ceilings. A circuit combining history, nature and traditions, in a land of cultivated fields, meadows, alpine pastures, mountain huts, precious herbs, excellent milk and cheese.
