Roadbook
From the top of the village of Perrigny, the PLM route, arranged with compacted sand, allows you to reach the first plateau on the hillside by crossing remarkable engineering structures, including the 800-meter long Diane tunnel and the iron viaduct of the Revigny gorge. Spectacular for its structures and natural environment, this steady climb (about 3%) offers particularly interesting views of Lons-le-Saunier and the gorges of the villages of Conliège and Revigny.
From Briod, the PLM route, paved with asphalt, passes through the landscape of the first plateau between forest and pastures. Soon, cyclists reach the village of Chatillon with a slight descent offering a beautiful view of the Ain valley and the villages of Blye and Mesnois. Bucolic and timeless, this cycling break is a real breath of fresh air.
Between Chatillon and Marigny, the PLM route is not yet constructed and no signage is in place; cyclists are therefore advised to be very cautious when joining the road (notably the D39 and D27) to reach Marigny and Lake Chalain, the largest natural lake in Jura, an essential site for many outdoor activities (swimming, fishing, canoe-kayak, ultralight aircraft, adventure trails, mountain biking, hiking...).
At Marigny, the PLM route resumes towards the 4th largest town in Jura: Champagnole. Along the Ain river, through meadows, pastures, and villages of the Pays des Lacs, you will gain some elevation and discover a rural and forested area approaching more and more the landscapes of the Haut-Jura...
