The accessible tunnel system of the Gerstfeldhöhe fortress work is about one kilometer long. Since 1997, the Westwall Museum can be visited. The Westwall was designed on 600 km and was considered an impregnable bulwark against the Allies. However, it turned out differently. Lemberg castle, on the other hand, was built at the end of the 11th century by Count Heinrich of Zweibrücken. It served the Zweibrücken counts for centuries as a bulwark to the east. The remains of the summit castle offer sensational views towards Pirmasens and over the Palatinate Forest. In between, the cycle route offers a lot of nature: the Gersbach valley, the Rodalb valley, a nicely located hut of the PWV and plenty of fresh air.
