Sports field Lenzfried – Bachtelweiher – Linggen – Bubenberg – Betzenried – Tobias – Durach – Linggen – Bachtelweiher – Sports field Lenzfried
From the sports field Lenzfried, cycle south on Wettmannsberger Weg until you reach the main road, Lenzfrieder Straße, where you turn left. Shortly after, turn right onto Bischof-Haneberg-Straße, which you follow until it crosses the railway line at a sharp left curve. Immediately afterward, keep right and cycle along the hiking trail along the railway line past Bachtelweiher until you turn left onto Linggener Straße towards Durach.
A gentle climb takes you to Linggen, where you turn left. On a gravel path, you go slightly uphill with beautiful mountain views and then downhill through a forested section until you reach a country road. There, turn left, then right under the A7 motorway and continue straight until you first turn left to Bubenberg, then immediately right, although the turn looks like a private property entrance.
Next comes a more demanding section to Betzenried over a gently rising meadow path. In Betzenried, a small idyllic village, cycle right to the Schönberg castle ruins. Of the formerly square residential tower, only the west wall and parts of the northern and southern walls remain. Continue through a bright woodland area in the middle of the Schönberg moor. At the country road, keep left and reach the forest inn Zum Tobias, a first opportunity to stop. Your tour continues straight on. After the small chapel and the pond, cross the Durach river and turn right into the forest at the next opportunity. On a gravel road, experience pure nature and enjoy the interplay of forest and meadows.
Attention: At several points, there are steep downhill sections. Those not confident in their brakes should consider dismounting from the bike occasionally. Stay on this path until you cross the Durach again and reach the next inn, the Waldschenke. After the Waldschenke, keep left and cycle along the so-called waterway, which provides interesting information about Durach and the topic of water at several info points. There are also various play stations for children.
You go under the A7 motorway and leisurely cycle to Durach. There, keep to Bachtelweg and then turn right at the fire station onto Vorwaldstraße heading out of town, passing Bechen and Laufen, and shortly after turn left. You are now back on the same route as on the outward journey. In Linggen, turn right to return to Bachtelweiher, a popular family excursion destination with a beer garden, bathing area, and mini-golf course. From here, it is only a short distance to your starting point. You cycle along the railway line again and then back on Bischof-Haneberg-Straße to the sports field Lenzfried.
