Sense-Aergera (Freiburg-Schwarzsee-Freiburg)

From Freiburg city center, we reach the lovely Sense region by the shortest route. On low-traffic side roads, passing picturesque hamlets, flower-decorated farms, and old chapels, we drive over scenic hills and through idyllic valleys uphill. The Sense river hides in a deep gorge up to the Guggersbach bridge, but then remains our constant companion until the destination. Until Zollhaus, the tour is a continuous up and down with some steep ramps and requires solid physical condition. The return journey takes us from Schwarzsee back to the Zähringer city of Freiburg. Between Plasselb and Tentlingen, the Aergera river is our constant companion. Even though the tour generally leads downhill, it includes some tough uphill sections, namely between St. Silvester and Bonnefontaine, from Stersmühle up to Tentlingen, and from Freiburg's lower town to the main train station.

Note(s)
Some intermediate descents are quite steep, narrow, and winding. The roads on this tour are all asphalted.
