This route’s character is, of course, defined by the distinctive windmills in Kirchhoven, Waldfeucht-Haaren, Waldfeucht and Gangelt-Breberen - especially when the wind is favorable for turning the sails. As you ride through fields and meadows, you always have a view over the wide, open landscape. Idyllic villages, such as Waldfeucht with its historic centre, line the way. A few opportunities for refreshments are also not far from the route. At the Breberen mill, you can even enjoy a direct view of the mill while having a cup of coffee or a cool drink. On the way to the former watermill in Millen, you pass the Höngener and Saeffeler Bruch nature reserves. And if you fancy more old crafts, a detour to the farmers museum in Tüddern is well worth it, before being greeted in Millen by a medieval ensemble: the St. Nicholas parish church with its provost’s house and tithe barn.

Roadbook
The mill route follows the signage of the junction system - with the exception of the section between the mills in Kirchhoven and Haaren, as well as the immediate access roads to the mills. All deviations are indicated by separate small signs with the logo of the mill association.
The start of the route is at the mill in Kirchhoven. From there, follow the separately attached small sign with the logo of the mill association.
After about 3.5 km, you reach the mill in Waldfeucht-Haaren. From there, use the logo to return until you reach the first junction signage. Keep right towards the junction points 50 (● 50) and ● 48. Once there, you will already see the Waldfeucht mill on the right and turn accordingly (about 6 km). From the mill, follow the signage with the mill association logo back to ● 48. You then reach the Breberen mill via ● 47 and ● 54 (about 4 km). Here you already have the destination in sight.
You can now end the route or extend it to the water mill in Millen. The route leads via the following junction points: ● 54, ● 53, ● 43 and ● 41. On the way towards ● 42, in Millen, turn left at the intersection 'Zum Haus Millen' on 'Von-Byland-Straße' (about 13 km) to the former mill.
> If you do not want to return via the same route, an alternative is available via the junction points ● 41, ● 46, ● 44, ● 52, ● 51, ● 57, ● 56, ● 19, ● 12 and then towards ● 39/50. After about 1.8 km, turn right to the Lümbacher mill in Kirchhoven (length about 31 km).
> Starting from the mill in Breberen, begin at junction ● 54, then to ● 55 and ● 56, where you join the aforementioned route (length about 14.5 km).
