The Schwarze Elster originates on the northern edge of the Sybillenstein near Elstra at an altitude of 340 m and flows after 190 km into the Elbe near the town of Elster (Saxony-Anhalt). Cyclists can expect a varied route through diverse landscapes: whether it's the Upper Lusatian Highlands, the emerging Lusatian Lake District, or the small Spreewald near Wahrenbrück. The cycle path also offers the opportunity to get to know many typical towns and communities of Upper and Lower Lusatia.
