SANTENA - Ring Toward Trofarello
Flat route in the Oltre Collina Torinese of just over 11 km, on secondary and country roads (mostly gravel) to discover an area full of surprises.
The first section of the route crosses the Area Golenale, a green area that stretches between the banks of the Banna stream and the majestic park of the Polo Cavouriano and that hosts a skateboard area, a picnic area equipped, games for children, a gymnastic and mountain bike path and public toilets.
We leave the center to head toward the hamlet of Tetti Giro and enter a rich rural landscape to the old Molino Gallè (11th cent.), no longer functioning, which retains its integrity and ancient wheels on the now-drained canal.
Continue to the hamlet of Rivera in the municipality of Trofarello, where the ruins of the castle of the same name (11th cent.) stand. Originally owned by the Monks of Testona, it has four side turrets, a pointed arch entrance with traces of graffiti.
The tour ends with a relaxing ride, surrounded by the countryside, back to the starting point.
