This route takes you through the idyllic Salzböde valley with little elevation gain.
At the “Schlierbacher Rad” above Hartenrod, the Salzböder cycling path begins in the rough highlands of the Lahn-Dill-Bergland Nature Park and follows the course of the Salzböde. It passes the inviting Lahn-Dill-Bergland spa, goes under the impressive railway viaduct in Bad Endbach, and continues through the districts of Gladenbach. The Salzböde valley then widens and crosses a gentle hilly landscape near Lohra, which stands in scenic and historic contrast to the source area of the Salzböde thanks to numerous historic mills. At Odenhausen, the Salzböde valley flows into the Marburg-Gießen Lahntal – the Salzböder cycling path meets the Lahn cycling path at its endpoint.

On this route I love the numerous places to stop and rest. My special highlight: a delicious piece of cake at the Schönemühle.
