We start our circular tour in the town of Baruth and cycle through the Baruther Urstromthal to the village of glassblowers. Here we immerse ourselves in the craft of glass production before cycling back past Dornswalde between woods and meadows.

Baruth was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. The late Gothic town church of St. Sebastian, which burnt out during the 30-year war but was restored in the 17th century with baroque interior decoration, is worth seeing. The castle (1), from the same period, is also worth a visit. The castle park was designed by the garden designer Peter Josef Lenn é. We now leave the village in the direction of Glashütte, passing Klein Ziescht and Klasdorf. In the 18th century, numerous glassworks settled in the Urstromthal. A large part of the forests fell victim to the smelters over the generations. Production continued until 1980, after which the plants were shut down. Today the area is an open-air museum and arts and crafts settlement. Visitors can watch the craftsmen at work on the smelters and buy a variety of products. There are also felt makers, potters and a herb witch who sells herbs that she has grown herself. In the museum (2) we can find out about the invention of the first thermos flask here in the village. Before we cycle back, we can rest in the historic Reuner Inn (3) with its beer garden, or cool off in the organic bathing pond. Our Rückweg runs üuft via the Rundlingsdorf Dornswalde and further along the edge of the forest to Radeland. In autumn this region is a paradise for mushroom pickers. On an idyllic path through the forest we return to our starting point, the railway station in Baruth.
