The Rott-Inn cycle path is a connecting route between the Rott and Inn valleys. For cyclists, there is much to discover on the route. Particularly noteworthy are the town square and the parish church in Eggenfelden. You should plan a short detour to the remarkable SchlossÖkonomie in Gern. The idyllic water garden in Mitterskirchen invites you to a relaxing break in the middle of a small natural paradise before continuing towards the Inn valley.

Eggenfelden offers interesting sights, the beautiful town square in the Inn-Salzach architectural style invites you to linger. You should plan the short detour to SchlossÖkonomie in Gern, one of the best-preserved manor complexes in Old Bavaria, on the route. Along the Geratal, it then continues to Mitterskirchen; the idyllic water garden is directly on the path.

Via Arbing and Reischach, you then approach the Inn valley. At the connection point at the Inn cycle path, there are various options to continue the route. Downstream, after a few kilometers, you reach the European reserve at the Lower Inn, which offers a special nature experience. Those who ride a few kilometers further can get to know the beautiful border towns of Simbach and Braunau. Upstream, it is only a few kilometers to the well-known pilgrimage site Altötting.

    Roadbook

The path starts at Öttingerstraße at the Rott bridge in Eggenfelden. It leads outward on the pedestrian and cycle path, turns right at Gerner Allee, goes through an underpass and then continues on a pedestrian and cycle path to Tiefstadt. There the path ends in a cross street, where you turn right. Parallel to the federal road, it then goes on a side street to Hirschhorn. There the path turns right into Gerastraße, turns left at the end of the settlement, goes through the small village of Endach and continues along the Geratskirchnerbach. Now it goes toward Mitterskirchen; at the edge of the town just after the sports field, the path enters a cross street where you turn left. Then you cross Geratskirchnerstraße and follow the signs through Mitterskirchen. On quiet side streets, the path continues over Holzhamm and Lidorf to the next intersection, where you turn left to Arbing. Immediately after at the town's end, the path turns left again and now runs on a side street past Waldberg and continues up a hill to the edge of the forest. There the path sharply turns right, then immediately left again onto a gravel path that runs along the forest edge to a cross street. There you turn left again and follow a side street over Oberthal to Reischach. At the town's edge, you cross the federal road (caution) and then follow a pedestrian and cycle path southward to Reischach. Idyllically along the Reischachbach, you then continue following the cycle path. At Kager, you go under the federal road, cycle further along the Reischbach street, cross the railway line, and follow the path to the Inn. The Inn cycle path leads downstream over Marktl and Simbach to Passau. Upstream, Neuötting would be the next destination.

    Equipment

For your safety, wear a bicycle helmet and sunglasses, as well as reflective clothing. Wind and rain protection clothing and a small tire repair kit should also be in your luggage. Skin and head should be well protected from the sun.

If you are traveling with your children, attach bicycle flags to their bikes so they can be better seen by other road users.
