Our route goes quite leisurely through the western slope of the Rhön to Fulda – the outbound route somewhat south, the return route somewhat north. Fulda with its cathedral is definitely worth a visit – so you should allow yourself enough time. A large part of the route runs on former railway lines.

From Langenbieber we initially head a bit southeast, passing the painters' village Kleinsassen. On cycle paths, it continues to Friesenhausen and Dietershausen. From there, the direction of travel is west towards Fulda – with the intermediate destinations Engelhelms, Bronnzell, and Johannesberg, and then northwards to the city center of Fulda. After sightseeing, follow the river further north to Horas – from there following the cycle signage to Götzenhof, Almendorf, Melzdorf, and Wiesen. Here we are already on a former railway line, which we follow via Niederbieber back to our starting point.
