The starting point can be Nabburg or Schwarzenfeld. Both locations are easily accessible by train and car. From Wölsendorf to Schönsee, the route runs as the "Friendship Cycle Path" on an old railway line, mostly on well-ridable natural surfaces. The endpoint is the restaurant in Plöß/Ples. The route runs away from busy roads. Wonderful landscape. Sights:
Schwarzach: medieval fortified church St. Ulrich with lavish baroque furnishings; Willhof: Romanesque St. James Church; Altendorf: elegant baroque nave church; Pertolzhofen: Pilgrimage Church St. Mary, Romanesque origin, now baroque decorated; cyclist station directly on the cycle path; the adjacent barn tavern (open Fridays and Sundays, otherwise
supplied by vending machines) was built independently by the association community. Between Pertolzhofen and Oberviechtach "Planet Path", also shows the distances between the sun and the planets in reduced scale.
On the route, a cyclist bus runs: 1.5.-3.10 Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, daily from Pentecost during the holidays. Registration required the day before. More details on the internet. Optimal from Nabburg to Schönsee by bus, return by bike, as it is almost all downhill, through the valleys of Ascha, Murach Schwarzach and Naab.
