The route crosses one of the most beautiful river parks in Europe, where naturalistic aspects intertwine with history. In fact, in the 6th century BC, the Golasecca iron civilization flourished along the riverbanks; more recent are the patrician villas aligned along the Naviglio Grande, intended as holiday homes for the Milanese nobility.
The route is part of the Walking & Cycling for future project through which Movimento Lento proposes every Friday a route on foot or bicycle whose start and end points are reachable by public transport (train, bus, etc.)
