Enjoy an approximately 40 km long bike route along Lake Constance. Starting at the Wasserburger Bucht nature reserve, the route goes along the Lake Constance bike path to the Eriskircher Ried. Once there, the beautiful landscape invites you to linger, then the route continues via Langenargen, along the Argen river and through the hinterland back to Wasserburg.

So far, 280 bird species have been recorded in the Eriskircher Ried, about a quarter of which breed regularly. Among them are special species like the hobby falcon, tufted duck, and oriole. The greatest variety of species can be expected by visitors during the migration periods in May and September.

From mid-May to early June, the Eriskircher Ried unfolds the most lush display of colors: thousands of Siberian irises transform the meadows into a blue sea of flowers, interspersed with some yellow spots of the water iris. The Siberian iris, called Iris by locals, is a highly endangered species that probably has the most beautiful populations nationwide at Lake Constance.

In autumn and winter, up to 34,000 herons and pochards and sometimes over 300 singing swans rest in the flat shore zone of the Ried.

Please remain on the paths at all times, even as a photographer.
